Theatre Without Walls produce touring theatre, educational theatre and site specific Events for a range of clients. We perform in found spaces, historic buildings, outdoors, at many festivals & events, in mainstream theatres, art centres and in local community venues and schools.
Our working methodology has a broad base with our major influences being the 'forum theatre' of Augusto Boal, the 'poor theatre' of Growtoski and the physical practice of Le Coq. We produce up close and personal interdisciplinary work using physical theatre, puppets, mask, sound and text based/literary theatre. Complicite, breaking down walls/barriers and discovery are core to our work. We believe in continual development and operate a laboratory approach to training and rehearsal. We undertake active research which has brought us into contact with traditional, street, cirque, dance and folk forms around the world as well as standard Stanislavski influenced practice and our working methodology continues to develop with each new project.
Theatre Without Walls consult for and produce work for many well known organisations and we are always interested in new ideas and commissions. We are able to create new productions 'in-house' for theatres, local authorities, community groups, charities and educational organisations at most scales with relatively short notice. So if you have a project in mind we will certainly be able to provide all you need to make it a success.
